Add import alias and directory helpers in codemods
The AdonisJS core package released version 7.6.0, introducing new features in the codemods tool, specifically adding import alias and directory helpers to improve code transformations and migrations.
AdonisJS Mail Integration with AdonisJS Queue
Documentation was updated to include instructions on using AdonisJS Queue for sending emails asynchronously instead of BullMQ. It explains how to install and configure the queue package, route mail sending to a queue job, create a job to deliver emails, and run a dedicated worker for email jobs. This enhances the mail package's integration with the AdonisJS ecosystem by leveraging the official queue system.
Faster Ace CLI startup with targeted imports
AdonisJS core v7.5.1 introduces targeted entry points for bootstrap code imports, allowing applications to import only necessary modules instead of the entire root entry point. This opt-in change significantly improves the startup time and memory usage of light CLI commands such as `node ace --help` by around 20%, with memory reductions of about 10 MiB. The improvements mainly affect light CLI startup, with minimal gains observed for full boot commands or production server startup.
Inertia v5.0.1 Release - Bug Fix
The AdonisJS inertia package was updated to version 5.0.1, which includes a bug fix that annotates the indexPages return type to ensure the emitted declaration correctly tracks the assembler. This fix addresses issue adonisjs/core#5142.
Introducing the codegen command
AdonisJS core package released version 7.5.0 which introduces a new codegen command to generate application types and index files, improving developer experience by automating type generation.
Inertia 5.0.0 Release: Inertia 3 Support and Full Protocol Coverage
The @adonisjs/inertia package released version 5.0.0, upgrading to support Inertia 3 and implementing the v3 protocol surface on the server. This release introduces several server-side features such as once props, keyed and directional merges, infinite scroll, rescued deferred props, first-class flash messages, shared props tracking, and support for multiple validation errors per field. On the client side, it adds route-aware useRouter, typed query strings, method overrides on multi-method routes, type-safe useHttp, correlated instant visits, and improved Vue and React wrappers. The @adonisjs/inertia/vite plugin was removed in favor of using @adonisjs/vite v6's serverEntrypoints. The upgrade requires React 19 or Vue 3.5 due to Inertia 3 client peer dependency changes. Several breaking changes and migration steps are detailed, including changes to SSR configuration and client event names.
AdonisJS Mail v10.4.0 Release: One-Click Unsubscribe Support and Dependency Upgrades
The AdonisJS Mail package released version 10.4.0 which includes a new feature supporting one-click unsubscribe via the listUnsubscribe header, a bug fix listing Postmark under supported transports, and dependency upgrades including bumping actions/checkout from version 6 to 7.
Queue deduplication, heartbeats, and safer job loading
The @adonisjs/queue package released version 0.6.2, upgrading its dependency to @boringnode/queue@0.6.0 which introduces job deduplication and worker heartbeats. Database users must update their queue_jobs table schema to support deduplication. Job discovery lifecycle changed to run during application start phase instead of provider boot to avoid premature imports and unresolved services. Console commands still load jobs explicitly. Custom queue adapters must implement a new renewJobs method for heartbeats.
Add support for Postmark transport in @adonisjs/mail v10.3.0
The @adonisjs/mail package released version 10.3.0 which introduces new email transports including Postmark and Cloudflare email service. Several bug fixes were also included related to header forwarding and attachment content resolution in resend and brevo transports. Additionally, improvements were made to the release workflow for supply-chain security and dependency updates for GitHub Actions.
Queue Worker Job Loading Fix
AdonisJS queue package @adonisjs/queue released version 0.6.1 which updates @boringnode/queue to v0.5.2 and fixes job loading behavior during command execution. The release defers automatic job loading in console commands, explicitly loads jobs inside the queue:work command before starting the worker, and prevents duplicate job file loading.
Custom schema rules correctly override default decorators in Lucid
In AdonisJS Lucid v22.4.2, a bug was fixed where custom schema rules did not properly override default decorators due to improper merging logic. This fix ensures that user-defined decorators replace default ones instead of being concatenated or ignored.
AdonisJS Lucid v22.4.0 Release: Test Assertion Helpers, Multiple Decorators Support, and Bug Fixes
The AdonisJS Lucid package released version 22.4.0 introducing new features such as assertion testing helpers and support for handling invalid JavaScript identifiers in schema generation with structured decorators. Additionally, it fixed typing issues and a bug related to 'with count' queries.
Lucid v22.3.0 Release Adds Transformer Support and CLI Stub Path Option
